Resimac partners with Run Rocket Run

In less than a week, our Regional Sales Manager is off for a run of a lifetime. 

Run Rocket Run, launched by our very own Rodney Cottam, is a mental and physical resilience movement designed to equip people with the tools they need to foster resilience in their everyday lives, as well as inspire people to realise their full potential. 

The first challenge he will be undertaking is running 350 kilometres over five days. This gruelling trail run kicks off on 7 November, and will start in the Southern Highlands and conclude at Mount Kosciuszko. The run will raise funds for veteran support charity Invictus Australia.

Run Rocket Run was borne from Rodney’s own experiences with adversity. As a paratrooper with the Royal Australian Regiment, he was involved in a motor vehicle accident that resulted in several injuries, including a spinal injury, fractured pelvis, broken ribs, punctured lung, and multiple lacerations.

After two 10-hour surgeries and 12 months of treatment, Rodney went from being an elite soldier in peak physical shape to being completely paralysed in his left arm, completely losing all movement and feeling from his shoulder to his fingertips. 

By leveraging his military training and previous experience as a high-level sports competitor, Rodney found a way to push past significant mental and physical barriers.

Now, 18 years since the accident, he runs at least five days and up to 100km a week.
